Most business owners probably won't agree with me, but you must overpay your people. The reason that is is because if you are paying your people for exactly what they're worth, or even less to try and save money, they aren't going to have that extra incentive to go the extra mile for you, to do extra work that you didn't even ask of them.
Let's just say someone, you're paying a freelancer $10, $10 to whatever, create something for you. But they know that their value is worth $10.50. If you were to pay them $12 and just said, you know what, I'm going to pay the extra, I guarantee that they will always be loyal for you, they will always be there when you need them and they will go the extra mile to create more for you and for your business.
And that goes a long ways because when you overpay your people, they're going to remember that later on down the road. Maybe when you need help, when you're struggling with your business and you said, you know what? I wish I would've had a better relationship with that person. I wish I would have treated them like my family, paid them well because I knew that later on down the road, if I have an issue, they're going to be there right when I need them. And they're going to be there, maybe even do it for free because they know that I overpaid them their whole time with me.

So always overpay your people. Don't treat them like just some freelancer or just some employee that you're just going to hire and fire eventually. Treat them with respect. Treat them like family because in the long run that really says a lot about you. It says a lot about your character. It says a lot about your business and your morals and values of your business and how you're going to be able to treat your customers as well.
