National Pension Scheme (NPS) is a retirement/tax saving scheme that can help save tax and get regular pension after retirement. The Government of India introduced the National Pension scheme in 2004 only for Government Employees but later opened it for all citizens of the country in 2009.

In this video Mr. Varun Malhotra will show with the help of actual calculations whether it is better to invest in NPS for Retirement and Tax benefits or simply to invest in the Nifty Index fund. Calculations have been done for :

1. A 30 year old
2. A 40 year old
3. A 50 year old

and for 5%, 20,% and 30% Tax Brackets. Certain assumptions have also been taken in coming up with the final numbers, as shown in the video itself.

The Tax benefits provided under NPS, the associated sub-sections under 80C and the extra 50K exemption under National pension scheme were discussed in the previous video (Part 2/3)
