Mutual funds (i.e - Passive Mutual funds such as Index Funds) and stock market Investing can provide higher returns than PPF but for those that are 1. Not inclined to learn about Investing in the stock market 2. Do not have adequate education to learn i.e - Maybe the EWS of our society, investing in PPF can be very very useful in securing their and their families' financial future.
